Cherry Creek West Redevelopment Begins
Construction mobilization and demolition work for the Cherry Creek West redevelopment is scheduled to begin in February 2026 and continue through Summer 2026, marking the first visible step toward transforming the site west of Cherry Creek Shopping Center. Monthly construction updates will be available on the project website at www.cherrycreekwest.com.
Neighbors can expect temporary construction fencing around the site, demolition crews and equipment onsite, and increased truck traffic following designated haul routes and clearly marked construction entrances and pedestrian paths. The site will be fully fenced and secured, with all public parking on the redevelopment site permanently closed beginning February 2, 2026, and no public access allowed inside the construction area.
Proposed demolition map with street closures.
To reduce neighborhood impacts, all workers are required to complete site-specific safety training and follow a Code of Conduct, and all construction parking for demolition will be contained within the fenced area rather than in nearby neighborhoods or the shopping center garage. Dust, noise, and erosion control measures will be in place, and work will comply with City and County of Denver hours: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends. Pedestrians will see clearly marked access points, sidewalk closures, and lane closures around the perimeter, particularly along East 1st Avenue, as shown in the project’s fence and logistics plan.
